Quick Answer

Move with WASD, switch weapons with 1/2/3, and quick loot with Ctrl + left-click. These Gray Zone Warfare keybinds also include C to crouch, X to go prone, and Q/E to lean; leaning is a separate action from switching shoulders. You can customize assigned buttons and input methods.

What are the default movement and stance keybinds?

Move with W/A/S/D, crouch with C, go prone with X, and use Left Shift to sprint.

ActionKey
Move ForwardW
Move BackwardS
Move LeftA
Move RightD
SneakLeft Ctrl
SprintLeft Shift
CrouchC
ProneX
Lean LeftQ
Lean RightE

For a smaller change in crouch height, use dynamic crouch. Hold Left Ctrl and scroll down to lower your stance, or scroll up to raise it. This gives you separate inputs for adjusting crouch height rather than switching directly between crouch and prone.

ActionKey
Dynamic Crouch Go DownLeft Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Down
Dynamic Crouch Go UpLeft Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Up

Keep the modifier in mind: Left Ctrl by itself is Sneak, while Left Ctrl combined with the wheel adjusts dynamic crouch. C and X select different stances, so use the action you actually want rather than treating both keys as a single crouch control.

If you have remapped your controls, use your own assignments instead of the default table.

How do you switch weapons in Gray Zone Warfare?

Press 1 for your main weapon, 2 for your pistol or secondary weapon, and 3 for melee.

ActionKey
Equip Main Weapon1
Equip Pistol / Secondary2
Equip Melee / Knife3
Quick Equip GrenadeG
Open Quick Access Menu4

Choose the numbered slot for the weapon you want. The secondary slot is described as Pistol or Secondary, while the melee slot is described as Melee or Knife; those labels still point to 2 and 3 respectively. Pressing 4 opens the Quick Access Menu rather than selecting another weapon slot.

Once you have the right weapon out, these controls handle firing, aiming, and ammunition checks.

ActionKey
Attack / FireLeft Mouse Button
AimRight Mouse Button
ReloadR
Check AmmoV
Switch Firing ModeB
Zeroing Next RangePage Up
Zeroing Previous RangePage Down

B changes firing mode; 1, 2, and 3 change the equipped weapon. Page Up and Page Down adjust zeroing range. For that separate adjustment, continue to Gray Zone Warfare weapon zeroing.

How do you switch shoulder in Gray Zone Warfare?

Q and E let you lean left and right; they are lean bindings rather than dedicated shoulder-switching bindings.

Keep leaning, changing weapons, and swapping shoulders separate when choosing an action. Q/E mean Lean Left/Right, while 1/2/3 select weapon slots. Neither set of bindings gives you a dedicated shoulder-swap shortcut.

Leaning is not the same action as moving your weapon to the other shoulder. Do not treat Q as a dedicated left-shoulder swap key. For the combat decisions around movement, continue to Gray Zone Warfare advanced combat tips.

How do you quick loot in Gray Zone Warfare?

Hold Ctrl and left-click an item on a corpse to quickly move it into an equipment slot.

Choose the item on the corpse

Use the shortcut on the individual item you want to recover.

Hold Ctrl and left-click

This is the quick-loot combination for transferring equipment directly into your equipment slots.

It is the fastest way to collect your equipment after returning to your body; see Gray Zone Warfare death and gear recovery for that situation.

The receiving equipment slot needs to be empty. If Ctrl-click does nothing, take off what you are wearing in that slot first.

How do you remap controls in Gray Zone Warfare?

You can change assigned buttons and alter their input methods.

Start with the action you want to change: selecting a weapon, changing firing mode, leaning, and adjusting crouch height are separate actions. Match the assignment to that action so you do not mistake a different control for the one you wanted.

For example, changing the assignment for Switch Firing Mode changes the action associated with B in the default layout. It does not change the separate Equip Main Weapon action associated with 1. Likewise, Lean Left and Lean Right are separate from the controls for crouching and adjusting crouch height.

Keep your customized assignments in mind when using the tables above. A default key list describes the default layout; your chosen buttons are the ones to use after remapping.
